The TBSAA Executive Council would like to congratulate Leslie Twite Gartin on her appointment as the new MWD Counselor for Tau Beta Sigma.  Leslie is an alumna of the Zeta Nu chapter at the University of Northern Iowa and has served on the TBSAA Executive Council since 2011.  The TBSAA is grateful to Leslie for her contributions to the organization and her service as Finance Chair.  We all wish her continued success advising the Midwest District.

TBSAA Sponsors 4th Annual TBS/KKPsi Sing at TMEA Convention

1017357_10101535775111536_2096341985_nFor the fourth consecutive year, the TBSAA is the primary sponsor of the annual KKPsi/TBS Sing event at the Texas Music Educators Association annual clinic & convention in San Antonio, Texas.  The event, the largest of its kind in the United States, brings together over 25,000 musicians, music educators, college students, K-12 music students, family, and exhibitors (including the National Headquarters).  On Thursday evening, February 12, at 10 pm after the convention activities and concerts have ended, Sisters and Brothers come together to sing our five official songs and join in fellowship and music.

TBSAA is a continuing sponsor of the event, with the cooperative support of both national organizations and the KKPsiAA.  All active, alumni, associate, and honorary members, as well as membership candidates are welcome to attend and join in the music.

The event will be in Room CC212 in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center this Thursday night at 10 pm.

TBSAA Now Accepting Nominations for Distinguished Alumni Award

TBSAA is now accepting nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Award.

Every biennium, the Tau Beta Sigma Alumni Association present the Distinguished Alumni Award to an outstanding formerly active or associate member of the Sorority. Nominations are due by April 1st preceding each national convention of the TBSAA and the winner is announced at the convention banquet. See below for detail about the award selection process.

TBSAA Music Program Grant Application now available

The Tau Beta Sigma Alumni Association Grant Program has released the 2015 Music Program Grant Application.  All members and affiliates of the TBSAA are eligible to apply for the grant, which in 2015 will go toward a music-related program or project.  For more information, visit the TBSAA Grant Program webpage.

TBSAA Seeks Graduating Seniors for Mentoring Program

With fall & winter graduations right around the corner, the TBS Alumni Association is again taking applications for its alumni Mentoring Program.  The program, started in 2013, connects recently graduated Sisters & Brothers with an alumni mentor in their field or profession.

If you are a young alumni, or are graduating this fall, and would like to join the program, send an email to Gwyn Fox Stump at gwyn@tbsigma.org.  Application for this cycle of the mentoring program are due November 30th.

TBSAA Welcomes New National Executive Director

The National Councils of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma are thrilled to announce the selection of our new National Executive Director, Mr. Steve Nelson.

Steve has a long history with our organizations, beginning with his initiation into the Alpha chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi in 1980. Since then, Steve has gained many professional experiences that will benefit our organizations in many ways, including some time as the Publications Manager for Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma. We are very excited about what Steve will bring to our organizations! Steve will officially assume his responsibilities in early September.

Please help us in welcoming him into this new position.

The TBSAA is planning for this year’s alumni trip to be one of fun in the snow with our first ever TBSAA Ski Trip! In order for the planning to be a success we need to hear from you.
